Susan Tade

Biography

Susan Tade is a member of the Academic Technology Support Services team at the University of Minnesota managing academic projects with particular emphasis on creating media-rich learning environments and curricular redesign. She works with faculty to identify learning objectives, target the media to those objectives and manage the production process, collaborating with instructional designers and media producers. Learning resources produced could be video lectures, online learning modules or objects, animations or simulations.

Susan is an accomplished project manager leading everything from small course projects to large cross institutional project teams. She recently lead a systemwide team in writing RFP requirements for a new University of Minnesota media management platform and is currently co-leading a working group of professional staff in the creation and implementation of a continuum of support work plan based on recommendations from an academic technology formal community of practice.

Susan began working at the University of Minnesota 25 years ago as a media producer / director producing video dramas, documentaries, public service announcements, and nearly every genre of information and educational communication. She successfully produced two public television series; a technology issues program for six years and a health call-in program for ten years. She is a mother of two grown daughters and spends leisure time enjoying travel with her husband every chance they get.
