BiographySusan V. Wawrzaszek is Associate Vice President for an integrated service organization (Library and Information Services / LIS) serving Wheaton College, Massachusetts.
A variety of roles dealing with the access and delivery of information has marked Susan's career thus far. Susan has worked in public libraries, special libraries and library consortiums, managing personnel, budgets, programs, and departments. Most recently Susan was Deputy CIO and University Librarian at Brandeis University.
In 2004, as University Librarian for Brandeis University, Susan worked with CIO Perry Hanson to create Library and Technology Services, an information organization for the 21st century. The integration of library and technology services is critically important for all services to be successful and sustainable. The transformational changes in information, communication, and computing require flexible organizations which allow staff to apply their skills and knowledge to the creation of a new type of organization.
