Biography

I consider myself a blended librarian. As the Director of Hege Library and Learning Technologies at Guilford College since 2013, I provide strategic leadership for all functions of a blended library and academic technology organization supporting the innovative and broad use of technology to enrich teaching, learning, and research.  Responsibilities include oversight for the advancement of learning technologies design and development, library collections management and development, digital media and maker services, learning space design; and educational development programs for students and faculty for furthering information literacy, digital competencies, and scholarly communications.  Also under the purview of the Director is administrative oversight for the College’s Quaker Archives and Special Collections, which include the permanent collection of the Guilford College Art Gallery. Responsibilities include the pursuit of grant opportunities and donor cultivation as these efforts advance innovations in the design of the learning experience and the vision for Hege as the College’s Academic Commons.
