Tara Cassidy

Biography

Tara joined Virginia's Community Colleges System Office in May 2007. As Director of VCCS Library Services, she manages the library enterprise systems and electronic research resources held in common by all 23 member colleges.

Her professional interests include instructional design and first-generation college student success. Previous experience includes working in special collections and serials management at University of Pittsburgh Hillman Library, serving as College Librarian at a small private college, and as Reference Librarian at J.S. Reynolds Community College.

Tara holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh, a graduate certificate in Educational Technology from James Madison University, and completed undergraduate studies in French, English, and Information Technology at Virginia Commonwealth University.
