Ted Bongiovanni

Biography

Ted is the Director for Primary and Secondary Educational Engagement at NYU Abu Dhabi. The views expressed in this space are his own, and not his employer’s. Past posts include serving as the Administrative Director of the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program NYU Abu Dhabi Summer Academy, and Director of Distance Learning at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies, and as the Director of Programs for MOUSE, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for kids to run tech help desks and interactive agencies in their schools and communities. Before joining MOUSE, Ted was the Associate Director of Production for Columbia University’s Center for New Media Teaching and Learning where he worked with Educational Technologists, Webmasters, Programmers, Videographers and faculty to oversee project development and production. Ted’s new media experience includes directing the Fathom Knowledge Network’s production team and producing the community section of the New York Today website for The New York Times electronic media company. Previously, Ted was a legislative assistant for US Rep. Sam Coppersmith and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Lithuania. He earned his BA from Susquehanna University and MPA from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. He was a Coro Leadership New York Fellow. Now he’s also plugging away at a PhD in Education and Communication Technology at NYU Steinhardt. Ted is an avid runner and occasional triathlete.
