Biography
Terry Moore received his BA in Philosophy from Purdue University and his
MA and Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina, Chapel
Hill (UNC). He has taught Philosophy at both UNC Chapel Hill and at
North Carolina State University with courses including Logic,
Epistemology, Ethics, Social and Political Philosophy, and Philosophy of
Religion. Since 1988 his work has focused on computing and information
technology. He was named Director of Computing and Communications for
the College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UT) in
1992 and was appointed Academic Projects Coordinator for UT's Telecommunications and Network Services office in 1995, where he founded
SunSITE@UTK with a grant from Sun Microsystems. He joined UT's
Innovative Computing Laboratory (ICL) in 1997, where he is currently
Associate Director, developing projects in high performance and
distributed computing, such as the Internet2 Distributed Storage
Infrastructure projects, for the scientific and academic computing
communities.
