Biography
Dr. Theodore Stone is a Professor Emeritus with University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC, formerly known as UMUC), one of the degree-granting institutions of the University System of Maryland. Dr. Stone began with UMGC in 2000 and served as Assistant Provost of the Center for the Virtual University; Associate Provost of Instructional Services and Support; and Director of Academic Technology in the Office of Information Technology. Additionally, he served as Director of Field and Clinical Experiences for the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program and as interim director of the MAT program.
In addition to his background in academic technology, he has expertise in partnering with leaders in the employer community to identify knowledge, skills and abilities needed to make academic programs the most workforce-relevant possible.
He is the founding chair of the UMUC Academic Advisory Board, a former chair of the Faculty Advisory Council, and the founding publisher of UMUC Teachers Press.
