The combination of an appeal from instructors and the needs created by the COVID-19 pandemic led one institution to develop a virtual reality chemistry lab.
Thierry Koscielniak is Chief Digital Officer at le Cnam in Paris, France. He performs an active watch and research on virtual and augmented realities for teaching and learning and promotes the concept of an academic Metaverse : la Métaversité.
His team of instructional designers and AV producers is in charge of the digitalization of the courses in order to provide best quality distance learning and innovative MOOCs.
Thierry facilitates a project to develop an E-portfolio for skills management for lifelong learners.
He is member of the Board of CSIESR (www.csiesr.eu) the French association of IT professionals in higher education.
He is also officer of the board of EUNIS (www.eunis.org) as Vice Secretary and EDUCAUSE Liaison Officer. EUNIS is the European association of IT professionals in higher education.
Thierry completed his PhD in Computational Chemistry at Pierre et Marie Curie University, Paris 6.
