Essential Functions • In all IT service areas, supervises and provides highly complex technical design, implementation, maintenance, system administration, and support of hardware, software, network, and instructional technology. • In all IT service areas, supervises and provides end-user support through consultation and advising, problem identification and resolution, training, and preparation/maintenance of documentation. • Develops and maintains policies, procedures, methods and tools for area of responsibility, consistent with University and OIT policies and procedures. • Provides advice to upper management and has direct responsibility for project and unit management, human resources, and budget administration. • Provides and coordinates on-call support for designated systems and services. • Supervises others with full supervisory responsibility. Experienced in management, project planning, and budgeting. • Knowledgeable of information technology principles and applications, computer system management methodologies and new technologies. • Competent in dealing with: externally imposed deadlines, set and revised beyond control; interruptions that influence priorities; uncertainty of nature or volume of work; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities; conflict-resolution and similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress involving supervised employees.
