Professional Summary:
Tirumala Rao Chimpiri is a seasoned IT professional with over 26 years of experience, specializing in enterprise technology solutions and cloud applications, with a primary focus on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
He currently serves as ERP Technical Lead at Stony Brook University. Prior to this role, he held leadership positions including Project Manager, IT Manager, and Technical Lead at prestigious organizations such as Oracle and Wipro Ltd. He has more than 8 years of experience in Higher Education ERP applications.
Tiru has consistently demonstrated a strong ability to manage complex software projects, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions on time. He has successfully led global delivery teams, serving clients across diverse industries, including Higher Education/Public Sector, Financial Services/Banking (BFSI), HR Services, Manufacturing, Consumer Packaged Goods, Telecommunications, and Transportation & Logistics.
Advisory & Professional Leadership Roles:
Tiru actively contributes to the advancement of higher education, technology, and professional practice through leadership, advisory, and conference service roles. He currently serves as Chair of the IEEE Computer Society – Long Island Section, guiding professional engagement in computing and engineering. He is also an Advisory Board Member for multiple institutions and organizations, including Farmingdale State College’s School of Engineering Technology (Computer Security), Hofstra University’s IS & Business Analytics Advisory Board, the NERCOMP Professional Development Committee, the HEUG Community Council, and the Mini-Track Advisory Board for HICSS-59 (Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2026).
