Tom Bettge

Biography

Tom Bettge is the Deputy Director for Services and Operations of the Scientific Computing Division at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). After graduate study at Purdue University, he specialized in high performance computing, climate and ocean model and data analysis applications. He designed and built the Department of Energy Parallel Climate Model (PCM). Recently, he was the Principal Investigator and Program Chairman of Cybersecurity Summit 2004, which brought together stakeholders from numerous university and government laboratory high performance computing centers to discuss recent security threats.
