Biography

Toshiyuki Urata, Ed.D is a Sinior instructional designer in Center for Online and Distance Learning (CODL) at the University of Kansas. He previously worked overseas on educational projects supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency in Turkey and Honduras. As a media specialist in Turkey, he designed various educational materials for a project with the Turkish Ministry of Health. In Honduras, he managed an in-service teacher training project and also trained the local staff in how to create videos, slides, and print material using desktop publishing software. Toshi's current interest is  in online teaching/learning, especifically in how teffectively it is supported through diverse interventions.
