Treca Bourne
Biography
Dr. Treca Bourne is a Talent Development Leader with Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board, where she leads enterprise talent development efforts for Virginia's largest publicly funded behavioral health care provider. She also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC), teaching courses in information systems management, technology concepts, and career development for IT majors. Her career spans talent development and IT across higher education, community colleges, and the private sector, with a focus on student-centered instruction that prepares learners to thrive in technology-driven workplaces.
Her teaching integrates technology-enabled learning, applied research, and workforce readiness to connect academic learning with career pathways. She is particularly interested in how AI and digital systems can expand access, enhance student engagement, and strengthen the pipeline between higher education and the workforce.
Dr. Bourne's research interests include the usability of admissions and enrollment systems, learning and technology governance, and the role of community colleges and adult-serving universities in advancing educational access and workforce development.
