Biography
Ulrike Dieterle has been with the Health Sciences Library, University of Wisconsin-Madison since 1999. For 5 years, she served as Head of Access Service. Collaborating with other UW-Madison libraries, she led an innovative initiative to develop a dependable, high-speed digital document delivery system to a sprawling and diverse campus community. Since 2004, she has served as Distance Services & Outreach Coordinator for the health sciences. She works with diverse populations throughout the state of Wisconsin to better understand the application of health information resources, health literacy issues and evidence-based information-seeking. She also serves as liaison to the School of Nursing, the Office of Continuing Professional Development, the Madison Veteran’s Hospital, Wisconsin AHEC, Wisconsin Office of Rural Health and the Community-Academic Partnerships core of the UW-Madison Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR-CAP). Ulrike has worked in other academic areas, including distance education, training and development, foreign language instruction, general and legal reference. She holds an M.A. in German from the University of Cincinnati and an M.L.S. from the University of Alabama -Tuscaloosa. She holds a professional certificate in distance education from the School of Education, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
