Biography

Hello Everyone,

Who is Valerie:

A versatile, visionary and result oriented IT professional. Strong record of achievement in developing and running a performant Business Intelligence department, business process improvements, defining and implementing corporate IT projects while developing people, profit and adding value in overall operations. Over 20 years of leadership experience, working cross functionally to secure corporate objectives and long-term company strategy. Proven track record of implementing complex IT programs and business processes and sustaining them beyond deployment.

My role at the University of Southern California:

I am responsible for managing the University’s data assets and information integration within the University of Southern California's Central IT department. I lead a team of Data Architects, Data Engineers, Integration Developers, and Analysts who manage, govern, and orchestrate a variety of data sources across a hybrid and multi-cloud landscape to deliver business-ready data in support of analytics and applications.

My work experience prior working in Higher Education:

I was an IT Director of Business Intelligence and Corporate Systems (SAP ERP, Salesforce CRM, Highjump WMS, and more) in a retail chain for 8 years. Prior to this role, I also worked in consulting, managing successful digital transformation programs for high-profile US companies across various industries, including pharmaceuticals, aerospace, electronics, retail, and manufacturing

My Education:

I have 2 Masters:

Master of Business Administration and a Master of Sciences in Economics
