Vasiliy Znamenskiy

Biography

I am an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Physics and Computer Science at the City University of New York, teaching science, physics, astronomy, and computational methods courses. My background combines physics, computational science, scientific programming, molecular modeling, and undergraduate STEM education.

My current interests focus on the practical integration of artificial intelligence into higher education, especially in undergraduate science courses. I am particularly interested in generative AI, Jupyter-based instruction, cloud notebooks, GPU-enabled learning, scientific computing, and the use of advanced computational resources such as NAIRR to support student learning and research.

Through the EDUCAUSE community, I hope to learn from colleagues working in instructional technology, digital transformation, faculty development, online learning, data-informed teaching, privacy, and responsible AI. I am also interested in sharing my own experience developing AI-supported learning activities, computational science assignments, and course materials that help students become better prepared for an AI-driven scientific and technological workforce.
