Wendy Shapiro
Biography
Dr. Wendy Shapiro serves as Associate Dean of Learning, Design & Technology at the University of Massachusetts Boston providing strategic leadership and direction supporting and advancing teaching, learning, assessment and scholarship within the College of Advancing and Professional Development across the broad spectrum of educational technology and instructional design functions. In this position she provides leadership in planning and policy related to curriculum development, e-learning, educational technology initiatives, technology enhanced learning environments, digital scholarship, and blended and online learning to support the College's strategic goals. Over the past 25 years Dr. Shapiro has taught numerous undergraduate and graduate courses in academic technology in the areas of digital literacy, instructional design, and distance learning. Outside of the university setting, I served as a consultant to the public sector focusing on educational technology including working for the IBM Corporation as an Educational Specialist.EDUCAUSE Publications
