Bill Anderson

Biography

Bill Anderson has been CIO at Saint Michael’s College since 2002. During this time IT has built a second active-active data center, implemented an equipment replacement cycle, implemented a wireless campus solution, standardized and upgraded classroom technology, developed an instructional technology team that supports several effective technology based instructional programs, and implemented new cabinet and trustee reporting models that were genesis of the college’s new business intelligence program. The work of the IT Department at Saint Michael’s has been featured in Sync Magazine and U.S. Business Executive.

As CIO he has given presentations and/or served on panels at EDUCAUSE, NERCOMP, Datatel Client Executive Institute, the Datatel Users Group, Ellucian Live, SCUP, EACUBO and NACUBO. He and Director of Business Intelligence and Associate CIO Mary Jane Russell collaborated on an early Educause Review article, Evolutionary Analytics: BI on a Shoestring.

Bill taught in the Department of Business Administration and the Department of Computer Science beginning in 1974, and served in most of the College faculty leadership positions. He has a background in software development and technology management, and successfully developed and sold three software businesses. He attended Dartmouth College, the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration, and the University of Chicago.
