Bill Garr

Biography

I have been developing educational media since 1988. I've held a variety of positions: interaction designer, media producer, and programmer. I've worked on museum kiosks, interactive laserdisks, edutainment CD-ROMs, client applets, and web applications. My Master's degree is in Education in Mathematics, Science, and Technology from the University of California at Berkeley, where I did a pilot study on how middle school students pretend to interact with game characters during group work on an educational game, and how this became part of the group problem-solving dynamic. I ha€™ve also studied film and film writing at San Francisco State University and The American Film Institute. My programming projects center around integrating social software tools with multimedia and storytelling.
