Bud Deihl

Biography

William “Bud” Deihl is a faculty Instructional Technology Consultant in the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) at VCU. He conducts various workshops and presentations to assist faculty in the use of various technologies in higher education, particularly in blended and online courses. Prior to joining the CTE, he supervised departments within the VCU University Library and Media Support Services, which supported the use of various media and telecommunications for teaching and learning. His educational background includes a BFA from the Fort Wayne Art Institute, an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Certificate of Online Teaching and Learning, from California State University (CSU), and a MSEd. from CSU, with a Specialization in Online Teaching and Learning. Bud enjoys the study and use of digital media and has implemented a Digital Storytelling Program at VCU. He collaborated with CTE colleagues in the development of an online course called Preparing to Teach Online to be piloted in 2012.
