
Bill Hoye
Biography
William P. Hoye is Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer at IES Abroad. For the past 10 years, he has served as the Primary Chair of the IES Abroad Crisis Management Team, and he authored the IES Abroad MAP for Student Health, Safety & Crisis Management, which sets forth IES Abroad’s institutional standards for responding to crises abroad.
Prior to joining IES Abroad, Bill served as Associate Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and a Concurrent Associate Professor of Law at the University of Notre Dame. For 22 years, he served as a Faculty Editor of The Journal of College and University Law, the nation’s leading scholarly law review on the law affecting higher education. Earlier this year he was named a Fellow of the National Association of College and University Law. He was a Visiting Fellow at New College, Oxford University, in the Centre for Higher Educational Policy Studies. Bill has given over 100 invited talks, presentations and workshops on a wide array of higher education law topics, he has published over a dozen scholarly articles and book chapters, and he been featured or quoted by National Public Radio, The New York Times, USA Today, the BBC, the Chronicle of Higher Education and various other media outlets and publications.
