Biography

Wilma is the Sakai Community Manager with the Apereo Foundation, and the Founder and Pricipal Consultant at Red Willow Solutions, LLC. She has more than 25 years experience in faculty training, LMS administration, online pedagogy, instructional design, online course and program development, teaching, and technical writing. Wilma has been involved with open source software since 2009, and plays a leadership role in a number of Sakai community groups, including the Sakai Project Management Committee (PMC). Wilma holds a master's degree in Technical Writing from the University of Central Florida, and an Ed.D. in Instructional Technology and Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University. She was selected as an Apereo Fellow in 2016. Wilma is currently the VIce Chair of the Apereo Foundation Board and she earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in Oct. 2025.
