Zeno Swijtink

Biography

Zeno Swijtink is a Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at Sonoma State University, where he teaches classes in Critical Thinking, "Philosophical Issues in Global Climate Change: Uncertainty, Caution, Community, Equity, Future," and "Philosophy and the Internet: New Forms of Communication, New Forms of Community and Personal Identity." Zeno has a PhD in Philosophy from Stanford University (1982), and a BS and MS from the University of Amsterdam in Philosophy, Mathematics, and Economics. His research interests are in the area of History and Philosophy of Science, Decision Theory and the Precautionary Principle. In his classes he introduces students to interactive information technology and to the wild wide web. As a volunteer he runs various environmental websites and lists in Sonoma County, CA, USA.
